Lucy Halehas been in the biz since she was just a kid! Anyone remember that short-livedAmerican Idol spin-off circa 2003:American Juniors? Like the mythical creature with whom this movie shares its name, not many people saw the film by second-time director, Robert Schwartzman. The film came and went with little fanfare, but received some pretty decent critics’ reviews and scored a ninety-one percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Impressive. The story centers around a quirky couple looking to have a threesome. They go in search of their “unicorn” a.k.a., a person willing to be sexually involved with an established couple. Enter:Lucy Hale. This role seems to be a bit more PG13 than Hale’s normal creative ventures, which has us intrigued.

Dude (5.1)

Lucy Hale's 10 Best Performances, Ranked (According To IMDb) (2)

Netflix coming-of-age story about a group of girls approaching high school graduation. This film, by female writer/director, Olivia Milch (who also wrote Ocean’s 8), boasts a great cast. In addition toLucy Hale, the film also stars Awkwafina.

This film seems to have got lost in the Netflix shuffle and according to most of the reviews, both from critics and viewers, it’s nothing to write home about. For a coming-of-age story to stand out, especially on a Netflix platform, it’s got to have something we haven’t seen before, which unfortunately, this film does not have.

Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare (5.1)

Lucy Hale's 10 Best Performances, Ranked (According To IMDb) (3)

Considering Lucy's new film in theaters now is of the hour genre, there seems to be a theme here. Lucy loves horror, which is great for us because she is so good at it! 2018’sTruth or Dareby the horror-movie masters at Blumhouse is no different. Directed by Jeff Wadlow, (who was the man behindKick-Ass 2), Lucy leads this gorgeous cast as Olivia Barron, who decides to play a game of truth or dare with some of her friends, seems harmless enough, right? Until someone, or more like, something starts punishing the players who lie or refuse to do the dare.

Fear Island(5.2)

Lucy Hale's 10 Best Performances, Ranked (According To IMDb) (4)

A TV movie that most of us probably missed... and judging by some of the reviews, we didn’t miss much. This film centers around five students on spring break, who stay in a secluded cabin on a small island for a weekend getaway, which already doesn’t sound like a good idea.

RELATED:

The friends quickly find themselves running and/or fighting for their lives after the cabin’s caretaker is murdered and the only boat off the island has disappeared. Classic horror movie set up. One of the students does make it out alive, but it’s not our girl Lucy. Haylie Duff co-stars with Lucy in this film and this story is her re-telling once she is off the island and in a mental institution.

Bionic Woman (5.7)

Lucy Hale's 10 Best Performances, Ranked (According To IMDb) (5)

This little known showonly lasted right episodes on NBC before getting canned in November of 2007. The show was supposed to be a remake of the 1970’s classic, but fell horribly short (as many remakes do). The good news is, because this show didn’t work out, it gave Lucy an opportunity to explore other film and television opportunities and it wasn’t long after the end of this show that she found herself auditioning for Pretty Little Liars. Everything does happen for a reason.

Sorority Wars(5.8)

A year before Lucy’s name became a household one thanks to Pretty Little Liars, she starred in the TV movie comedy, Sorority Wars. Lucy’s character, Katie, decides to shake things up as a college freshman, and instead of pledging to the sorority her mother, played by Courtney Thorne-Smith, co-founded years earlier, she takes matters into her own hands and pledges to a different sorority because, well, she wants to.

After the success of the first season of Pretty Little Liars, it was really only a matter of time before Lucy appeared in a big budget film franchise, and Scream seems like a perfect fit! Spoiler alert: She doesn’t last long. In this film, Lucy follows in the footsteps of other classic Scream-queens, Drew Barrymore and Sarah Michelle Gellar, who were featured in the first scene of Scream andScream 2, respectively, but don’t make it past the opening credits.

The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2 (6.2)

One of the best things about the sequel to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, besides getting to meet Kostos, Lena’s gorgeous Greek lover, is finally getting to meet Effie, Lena’s sister (played byLucy Hale). Seeing Rory Gilmore and Aria Montgomery on the same screen now is squeal-worthy and their acting is wonderful. These girls deal with some heavy storylines in this film and they really bring it when their characters are put to the test, especially when the previously mentioned hot Greek named Kostos comes between them.

Wizards of Waverly Place (6.8)

Lucy Hale's 10 Best Performances, Ranked (According To IMDb) (9)

Okay, so if you’re a kid or if you have kids,Lucy Halewas probably a household name before her Pretty Little Liars fame, when she played Miranda on Disney Channel’s hit TV show, Wizards of Waverly Place (the same show that putSelena Gomezon the map). In this kid-friendly comedy, Lucy plays Miranda, who is series’ lead Justin’s new girlfriend. The relationship doesn’t last too long, though. Lucy appears in two episodes over the course of this show’s five-year run. Miranda does give Justin his first kiss though, making her a pretty memorable character for the show.

Pretty Little Liars (7.4)

Lucy Hale's 10 Best Performances, Ranked (According To IMDb) (10)

This is the show that put Lucy on the map and built an incredible, die-hard fan base. In it, Lucy plays Aria, who seems like every parents’ dream daughter with her good grades, spunky personality, and fashion sense to match, but Aria harbors plenty of secrets and finds herself constantly navigating murky waters, to say the least. The series kicks off with Aria’s biggest secret, she’s hooking up with her English teacher, a fact that could have been a big turn off for viewers, but the innocence and ease with which Lucy approaches this character, makes it nearly impossible not to fall in love with her.
