Ranking the Top 50 WWE Entrance Music Themes of All Time (2024)

Professional wrestling is, at its core, a performance art. There are bright costumes, pyrotechnics, feats of incredible athletic ability and, of course, theme music.

Every great pro wrestler needs to have entrance music that captures the essence of their character and is memorable enough for fans to instantly associate with them.

Almost every wrestling fan will have a different opinion on the best entrance song of all time. Some may pick a Jim Johnston composition and others might select a famous song a wrestler adopted as their own.

Some tunes are iconic on their own, and some were made iconic by the wrestlers who used them for years. Hundreds of men and women have worked for WWE over the decades, which means there are just as many options to choose from when picking the best music.

A panel of Bleacher Report writers cast their votes to determine the top 50 entrance songs of all time. Chris Mueller and Erik Beaston co-wrote the article.

Let's take a look at who made the cut.

Here are a few honorable mentions who were just shy of cracking the top 50.

"Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase

The egotistical laugh of The Million Dollar Man kicked off a theme song that claimed "everyone's got a price" and "everybody's gonna pay" because The Million Dollar Man "always gets his way."

"It's All About the Money" was an appropriate tune for the dollar bill-grubbing villain who set out that money could buy anything and anyone he saw fit.

British Bulldog

Davey Boy Smith rose to prominence as a tag team wrestler with The Dynamite Kid, but he achieved most of his success as a singles star, winning the Intercontinental and European Championships along the way.

For a star of his magnitude, incredibly proud of his time spent in his home country of England, there was only one theme song that would fit: Rule, Britannia.

It was his theme, synonymous with the Bulldog, for most of his career.

Lita

The fiery redhead who accompanied The Hardy Boyz as one-third of Team Extreme was a free spirit who did her own thing and was incredibly laid back until it was time to unleash.

It was appropriate that "LoveFuryPassionEnergy" by Boy Hits Car was her theme song because it possessed many of those traits.

It was explosive and loud at times and unabashedly declared, "f--k your rules, man!" in its chorus. It was counterculture, as Lita was, and was the perfect song for her revolutionary career.

Narrowly rounding out the top 50 is the song that accompanied Big Show to the ring. However, the only part most people will be able to recall is the opening line: "Well, it's the Big Show!"

The edgy guitar riff and Bálor's ability to mold his entrance to it made "Catch Your Breath" one of the most captivating themes in WWE, especially when the former leader of Bullet Club broke out his fan-favorite Demon persona.

The slower, more foreboding version of the theme that the Irishman has used as a member of The Judgment Day maintains his aura while slowing things down and leaving no question about his status as a heel.

Sasha Banks' theme music was always as memorable as her, but it was taken to new heights when her cousin, Snoop Dogg, remixed it with his own lyrics.

The Boss had some epic entrances with this song, but her 'Mania entrances always felt extra-special. It's a shame it was a WWE-produced track she cannot use outside of the company.

Like the man himself, Jake Roberts' theme is slow, calculating and quiet. The synth-driven song slithers in and out of beats and melodies like a python waiting to entrap its prey.

"Snake Bit" was the perfect theme for one of the most cerebral and thought-provoking Superstars in WWE history. It ushered in the arrival of one of the most dangerous Superstars on the roster and his trusty pet, Damian.

There would be other flashier, more dynamic entrance themes but few more appropriately fit the character quite like Roberts'.

Fans rejoiced when Drew McIntyre brought back his "Broken Dreams" entrance music at Clash at the Castle in 2022, and for good reason. The song has an epic sound that feels appropriate for a man as big and dominant as The Scottish Warrior.

Razor Ramon was the definition of cool to young fans in the 1990s, and his smooth entrance music enhanced that image.

The legendary Johnston wrote the song that became synonymous with The Bad Guy during his WWE career.

Of course, the sounds of tires screeching at the beginning played a big part in why it was so memorable.

If you watched WWE during the second half of the '90s, then Goldust's entrance music is likely burned into your memory forever.

The orchestral score was perfect for the man who thought he was the living embodiment of an Academy Award. His entrance was always a grand affair, and his music helped set the tone.

Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta. Shield!

The mix of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose's voices in the opening seconds of The Shield's theme, "Special Op," left no question about who was about to arrive on the scene and cause chaos.

The pounding chorus of the tune accompanied the trio as they marched through the crowd and to the squared circle, ready to introduce justice to the WWE Universe.

The song was edgy and unpredictable, much like Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins who would emerge from WWE's developmental system to become world champions and faces of professional wrestling's future.

Story of the Year gave Christian a memorable entrance song that is instantly identifiable by its first two notes. If you were a Peep and you heard those drum beats hit, you would immediately be on your feet for Captain Charisma.

"Close Your Eyes" was a perfect song for him, and it would be great to see him use it one more time.

Asuka will go down in WWE history as one of the most skilled women to ever put on boots, and her entrance music is a small part of what makes her presentation so special.

"You Can't Hide" is a song that gets your blood moving. When it begins to play in an arena, you will always see numerous fans dancing with The Empress of Tomorrow.

Her in-ring ability, face paint, masks, colorful attire and entrance music all make Asuka one of the most interesting and memorable characters in WWE today.

While it was updated over the years and given a verbal intro by Booker T, his most famous entrance song in WWE was essentially the same song he and Stevie Ray used in WCW as Harlem Heat.

Even if it didn't have Booker saying "Can you dig it, sucka?" at the beginning, any fan will know it as his song instantly.

On the surface, the edgy and attitudinal rock of "No Chance in Hell" by Johnston may not seem like a song perfectly suited for a billionaire businessman. Still, it oddly fit the owner and operator of WWE at the height of the Attitude Era.

The lead singer's defiant screaming and the backbeat that perfectly accompanied the megalomaniacal owner's swinging arms made for an excellent presentation, one that would carry long beyond 1999, when the track first debuted as McMahon's anthem.

Some of the best entrances at any WWE event have taken place during NXT Takeovers, and few people made as big of an impression with an epic arrival as Bobby Roode did at TakeOver: Toronto in 2019.

Being sung to the ring by a full choir was an unforgettable moment and made his entrance truly Glorious.

Some themes had little to do with the Superstar they were attached to but ultimately became synonymous with their presentation. Case in point, Becky Lynch's "Celtic Invasion."

There is little to nothing Celtic or Irish about it, but the energy that explodes over the speaker from the moment it hits through the entirety of her entrance perfectly encapsulates all that The Man has evolved into since she first entered the NXT Arena to it.

A riffing guitar, a thunderous beat and chants from unknown artists make it one that fans can cheer while the future Hall of Famer makes her way to the ring.

Perhaps no use of it has been more important than at WrestleMania 35, when Lynch entered MetLife Stadium for the main event of the biggest show of the year, that same theme song playing as she prepared to battle Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in a Triple Threat match for the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships.

It would play again at the end of the night, the soundtrack to Lynch's historic victory. She had become the first woman to win the main event of wrestling's most prestigious show.

AJ Styles' newest theme song has not been received well by fans who see it as a big downgrade to the music he had been using since his initial debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble.

This was definitely a case of the man making the music special because as soon as fans realized who it belonged to, they went wild in the arena.

"You Don't Want None" is quite the opposite declaration of what WWE fans want regarding Styles' old music.

The growling of the guitar and the relentless beat of the chorus of "Next Big Thing" announced to the world that the baddest man on the planet was on his way to the ring to battle anyone stupid enough to stand in his way.

The in-your-face beat accompanied Brock Lesnar from the summer of his first world title victory throughout his career as he F-5'd everyone and accumulated 10 heavyweight titles.

The fact that Lesnar adapted his pre-match bounce to it only further enhanced the former NCAA champion's image as an unstoppable badass.

The Brood's theme song was a haunting composition that perfectly captured the vibe of three wannabe 1990s vampires. This simple but appropriate song enhanced the fire, elevator on the stage, strobing red lights and Gangrel spitting blood.

The group wasn't around for long, but it and its entrance music left a lasting impression on fans. Thanks to this gimmick, Gangrel, Edge and Christian will forever be linked.

There may be no entrance theme on this list cooler than that of the NWO. It was anti-establishment and inspired a vibe that perfectly matched that of what those in management foresaw the group being.

It was also a house beat from the Turner catalog. Eric Bischoff revealed as much during an appearance on The Gunz Show:

"When you think about the character of the nWo, they were antiheroes. They were cool; they had a vibe, they had a look. It's one of the reasons that a lot of the interviews that I did with the nWo, I did then in black and white, in a grainy, film-like format. Nobody else was doing that. Everything else was colored, bright, and shiny. I wanted the nWo to be almost an underground vibe. That music just fit. It was in the catalog, it was free, and it was there."

He was right. Today, the song remains an unforgettable reminder of the cool, outside invaders taking over Monday Nitro every week, the black-and-white T-shirts leading the way for Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and the rest of the gang.

It defined an entire era of professional wrestling for fans who lived through the Monday Night War and remains relevant thanks to the countless documentaries on the subject that continue to be produced.

It remains a soundtrack for rebellion in professional wrestling.

"The Ride of the Valkyries" by Richard Wagner is a classic song that has been played by countless orchestras and used in a multitude of movies and TV shows, so it felt appropriate for Bryan Danielson to use during his time as Daniel Bryan in WWE.

Using a song like this was a throwback move, which was appropriate given The Yes Man's love for traditional technical wrestling.

Anthems are tough to come by. They are the theme songs that bring the audience into the show, giving fans something to sing along to in support of their favorite wrestlers.

We are currently blessed to be in an era when several of those themes exist, but few have become as much a part of the wrestler's persona as Rollins' "Visionary."

The song has come to define him to the point that his character now commands audiences to sing his song when he enters any of the arenas WWE plays to.

Like Rollins' on-screen persona, it is chaotic, with lightning-quick riffs that can easily be mistaken for "noise" by the uninitiated. When that chorus cycles back around and he outstretches his arms, the crowd comes alive like an orchestra for The Visionary.

It is a major element of his presentation and has helped to define the era of the former world heavyweight champion as much as any other wrestler on this list.

"Some Bodies Gonna Get It" was the song made famous by Mark Henry. If you don't know the first couple of lines of his entrance music, you weren't paying attention.

The lyrics of this song are not only memorable to millions of fans, but they fit The World's Strongest Man's powerhouse mystique like a glove.

Roddy Piper is one of the most iconic Superstars in WWE history. A loudmouthed performer who could captivate audiences with his gift for gab or infuriate them by insulting one of their favorites.

He was a virtuoso performer, one of the greatest entertainers and showmen to ever lace a pair of boots. He also had one of the most iconic themes in company history.

"The Green Hills of Tyrol" ushered him into arenas across the globe, the bagpipes telling the story of a Scottish soldier who longed to return home rather than die in the Tyrol. It is a more somber song than most on the roster, but it became linked to Piper.

WWE would attempt to alter or change the theme music to something more generic, but the new theme lacked the connection with the audience, no matter how many times they heard it. That failure to produce something as meaningful or memorable as the original only heightened its significance and solidified its place on this list.

Kane's entrance song is another that has been updated and modified over time, but most of his time in WWE was spent using a version of the composition seen in these clips.

Much like his kayfabe brother, The Big Red Machine's entrance song immediately captured his character's spooky vibe.

The late, great Eddie Guerrero lied, cheated and stole his way to championships and the hearts of the WWE Universe, becoming one of the most popular and endearing Superstars in modern history.

Part of that was his presentation, with the lowriders he drove into arenas across the globe and the "Viva La Raza" that echoed over PA systems and announced his arrival.

The song admitted all of his transgressions, revealing to the entire world (including the referees of his matches) that he lied, cheated and stole. It did not matter.

Guerrero still bounced his way into arenas and strutted down the aisle, his theme ushering him to the squared circle. Late in his career, the energetic song was remixed into a slower, more methodical version called "I'm Your Papi," the final of his career.

Mick Foley utilized several different songs during his WWE tenure.

His Mankind theme was creepy, his Dude Love tune was groovy, and his Cactus Jack song was a rock/blues tune, but his most famous theme was the one he used when he was himself because it was used for the longest period of time.

All four songs have their charm, but the Foley theme is iconic because it represents the man who made all of those legendary characters memorable.

Jeff Hardy had graduated from tag team specialist to legitimate main event attraction in 2008 and to celebrate his rise to the top of the card, he got an upgrade in theme music from the stock track that had defined the Hardy Boyz run to a better song by Endeverafter titled "No More Words."

The tune completed the package of a bona fide main eventer and most notably played seconds after the referee counted three and Hardy defeated Edge and Triple H in the main event of Armageddon that December to capture his first WWE Championship.

It would go on to remain a fan-favorite theme, and it returned to WWE television for one last run in 2021.

Shinsuke Nakamura's original WWE entrance music was already pretty great by itself, but WWE made it unforgettable by bringing in violinist Lee England Jr. to perform during his entrance on a few occasions.

Pat McAfee getting on the announce desk to rock out to The King of Strong Style's entrance was always fun, but the grandeur England's violin work added to the song was unmatched.

If there was any indication that Rev Theory and Johnston struck gold when they produced "Voices" for Randy Orton in 2009, one must look no further than today's WWE.

Fans in arenas across the globe wait for the opportunity to recite the lyrics from start to finish.

An iconic theme that is as relevant now as it was 15 years ago when it first appeared, it continues to guide the future Hall of Famer to championship encounters and unforgettable RKOs from out of nowhere.

If you don't associate the word "Booyaka" with Rey Mysterio, can you even call yourself a wrestling fan?

Performed by P.O.D., Mysterio's entrance music is not only synonymous with his character, but his name being in the song also makes it his own.

This is one of the handful of times a famous band has recorded music specifically for a wrestler, which makes The Master of the 619 even more legendary.

A Tribal Chief deserves a theme as epic as his greatness, and in 2021, Roman Reigns received it.

After seven years of carrying over The Shield's theme, Reigns adopted "Head of the Table," a production that mixed orchestral work, chorus singers, modern beats and the underlying elements of the Shield song.

The result? A theme that commanded acknowledgment of the one, true Tribal Chief and historic undisputed WWE universal champion.

The words "One of a Kind" blaring through arena speakers can only signify the arrival of ECW original Rob Van Dam.

The high-flying Superstar's theme song is as iconic and recognizable as his Five-Star Frog Splash. You're probably humming it right now because it's so easy to recall.

Chris Warren and Johnston produced "Are You Ready?" in 1997 for D-Generation X, a rebellious group founded by degenerative heels Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

An anti-authority anthem for a new era of professional wrestlers, it echoed throughout arenas around the faction made its way to the ring.

Over the years, it would take the likes of X-Pac, the New Age Outlaws and Chyna to the ring before making a comeback in 2006 as part of the faction's revival.

Today, it remains a staple of WWE events as the soundtrack to the commercial break time-filler known as the D-X Cam.

"Also sprach Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss is mainly known for two things: Its appearance in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey and its use as Ric Flair's entrance music.

It is so synonymous with the Flair name that Charlotte has used a remixed version for years.

Bray Wyatt could have had two or three different themes on this list.

The band Code Orange produced two different songs for the former WWE champion: One for his alter ego, The Fiend ("Let Me In"), and "Shatter," which accompanied his return to the company in 2022 and has since been adopted by The Wyatt Sicks.

The Wyatt theme that does make this list, though, is Mark Crozer's "Broken Out In Love."

An oddly haunting song, it was the soundtrack to Wyatt's unforgettable entrances, surrounded by the fireflies of the WWE Universe.

Perhaps most memorable was Crozer's live performance of the song at WrestleMania 30, which played Wyatt to the ring for his first showdown with John Cena.

The Ultimate Warrior's entrance music is one of those simple rock scores that every wrestling fan can recognize within a second or two.

Even if you aren't old enough to have seen him live, you probably know this tune. You can't hear it without picturing a painted powerhouse shaking the ring ropes.

As we have already covered several times throughout this countdown, the best themes encourage fan participation, and few did so better or more effectively than Kurt Angle's "Medal."

On the surface, it was a regal theme that introduced a respected star. It was triumphant with horns blaring, but fans of WWE in the Attitude Era had other plans for the 1996 Olympic gold medalist.

Encouraged by babyfaces such as The Rock, Chris Jericho and Edge, Angle instead entered arenas to chants of "You suck" chanted perfectly in tune with the song.

It was a chant that would continue throughout his career, during stints as both babyface and heel; a term of endearment for a legitimate real-world athlete who had long earned their respect.

Shawn Michaels may have sung his own entrance music, but John Cena is the only WWE Superstar who recorded his own theme as part of a full album.

"The Time is Now" may not make it onto many lists of the best rap songs of all time, but the 16-time world champion's music has become an integral part of his character.

When those first few notes hit, you rarely see anyone in the arena sitting down.

No other theme song on this list is more intensely personal to the wrestler it accompanies than Downstait's "Kingdom," produced exclusively for Cody Rhodes.

The song is a narrative of Rhodes' life. He left wrestling to strike out on his own, sticking it to the promotion that saw nothing in him and proving there was more than one royal family in professional wrestling.

It is ironic, then, that the promotion in question is WWE, the company for which it gets seemingly endless playtime and tens of thousands of fans singing along to it on a nightly basis.

The song, commissioned by Rhodes himself, has become ingrained in WWE television and the fan experience, earning its spot in the upper half of this countdown.

Sherri Martel was the original voice on Shawn Michaels' entrance music.

But after they parted ways as manager and client, The Heartbreak Kid recorded the track himself and used that as his solo entrance music for the rest of his career.

It's one of those songs that every 1990s wrestling fan has sung to themselves in the shower or in the car. Don't deny it.

"Fight for your rights! Fight for your life!"

Rick Derringer demanded as much in his 1980s "Real American," the entrance theme that was deemed just too big for the US Express' Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham.

The song was made for and debuted as the theme for the former WWE tag team champions, only to be recycled for American hero and WWE champion Hulk Hogan in 1985.

It would accompany The Hulkster into all of his major championship matches and defenses, becoming one of the most iconic tunes in company history.

Hogan has also used "Voodoo Chile" at times throughout his career. Considering that, it may be difficult to find a guy who has had cooler themes away from his most iconic one than The Hulkster.

Motörhead was responsible for giving Triple H "The Game" to use as his entrance music, but he also used the band's song "King of Kings" numerous times.

Having a popular band play you to the ring is a great way to stand out, but few wrestlers have had a group as iconic as Lemmy and Co. make music for them.

The Cerebral Assassin also used a more generic song during his Connecticut Blueblood days, but that only lasted until he teamed up with Michaels and began using DX's theme music.

The 14-time world champion has had some memorable entrances over the years, but the one in the video here may be his most iconic.

CM Punk used "Cult of Personality" as his walk-up song during his Little League baseball days, and it has remained a favorite since.

While he originally had Killswitch Engaged's "This Fire Burns" earlier in his career, Punk became the full main event package the moment he returned after a weeks-long hiatus in August 2011 to Living Colour's most famous hit.

Whether it was against battles against Cena or Orton, Danielson or The Rock, the song guided Punk into the biggest and most important matches of his life. Look no further than WrestleMania 29, when the band played him to the squared circle in front of 80,000 fans.

Bret Hart's theme music has been remixed and used by other wrestlers, such as Tyson Kidd and Natalya, but the original Hitman theme is as good as it gets.

At its core, Hart's music is a simple composition. Jimmy Hart and JJ Maguire recorded the original version for The Hart Foundation, but most fans know the updated song recorded by Johnston.

That first note from a guitar is all you need to hear to know who is about to come through the curtain.

In 2005, Batista divorced himself from Evolution, striking out on his own and chasing individual stardom in WWE. He achieved it by defeating Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21.

A few months later, he received a new theme song to go along with his burgeoning stardom.

Written by Johnston and performed by Saliva, "I Walk Alone" utilized the generic rock track he had previously entered arenas to, beefed it up with some heavier guitar work and added the vocals of Josey Scott to create one of the great themes in WWE history.

The Rock's entrance music has been remixed more times than "Old Town Road," but the base tune has remained the same for over two decades.

Much like Hart, Rocky's music is a simple tune, but the man using it makes it more epic. However, This music has something The Hitman never had.

That instantly recognizable line, "If you smell what The Rock is cookin'," has been in his music almost as long as he has had the song. It immediately lets the fans know they are about to see The Final Boss.

The newest version of his song since joining The Bloodline is the most complex version yet, matching the grand image he is trying to project as a powerful entity in WWE.

Edge benefited from some great theme music in his career, including Rob Zombie's "Never Gonna Stop," but none became as integral to his presentation as Alter Bridge's "Metalingus."

The application of that theme to his rise to the top of WWE, his heel turn and torrid on-screen relationship with Lita, and the introduction of his "Rated-R Superstar" nickname came together to create a total package that allowed the company to buy into him as a marquee performer in the company.

From the minute Edge adopted the music in 2004, it has been a staple of his appearances, regardless of whether they were in WWE through 2023 or All Elite Wrestling, where it continues to be the soundtrack to Adam Copeland's many unforgettable bouts.

"Pomp and Circ*mstance" by Sir Edward Elgar is known as the song you hear at graduation ceremonies, but to wrestling fans, we know it as the tune Randy Savage used throughout his career.

It was an interesting choice for The Macho Man to use for a few reasons. Not only did the early-1900s melody not match his bombastic and colorful persona, but it also seemed more suited to his brother Lanny Poffo's character, The Genius.

Lanny even wore a graduation cap and gown to the ring, but Randy made it his own and it became synonymous with The Macho Man.

Every wrestling fan who heard this song at graduation probably had the urge to let out an "Oooh yeah!" as they accepted their diploma.

When "Y2J" flashed up on the Titantron on the August 9, 1999, episode of Monday Night Raw and "Break the Walls Down" exploded over the sound system, it was apparent that WWE had delivered a significant blow in the Monday Night Wars by acquiring former WCW star Chris Jericho.

At first, he was a charismatic goofball before settling into the persona that would take him to success, but it was his presentation during that iconic first appearance in which he interrupted The Rock that caught the attention of the fans.

Part of that was the music, which was heavy and anthemic. It announced to the wrestling world that Jericho was a star.

The Undertaker's entrance was always a spectacle, but WWE always went the extra mile to ensure his WrestleMania entrances were unforgettable.

Few things in live entertainment can match the atmosphere in a stadium full of fans as the lights drop and that familiar bell sounds to signify The Deadman's arrival.

The various special entrances he has had over the years would take a couple of hours to watch, and every one was a special moment for the fans in attendance.

What was originally a version of Chopin's "Funeral March" has morphed into one of the most iconic entrance songs ever thanks to The Undertaker.

And now, we arrive at the greatest theme song in WWE history.

The shattering of the glass. The relentless beat. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's "I Won't Do What You Tell Me" reflects the personality of the man it represents. He was a take-no-prisoners anti-hero who flipped off dignitaries, employers and foes while raising hell and kicking ass.

There was nothing special about him, either. He had a shaved head and goatee, wore black trunks and stomped holes in people with his plain black boots. There was nothing flashy about him, nor was there about the all-time great theme concocted by Johnston.

To this day, no theme elicits a bigger pop than Austin's, with that shattering of glass sending the audience back to the heyday of Attitude Era fandom and epic encounters with The Rock, Undertaker, Mankind, Kane, Kurt Angle, Triple H and others.
